Updates

Once the installation of cabling and or network equipment system are completed invariably changes have been made, or ad‐hoc changes are visible on drawings after completion. The qolcom CAD team is on hand to amend drawings to ensure that drawing documentation is “up to date”. This information can be provided as marked up hard copies or alternatively as soft copies utilising Redlining Software (available from AutoDesk) and sent to cad@qolcom.co.uk

Wireless

The qolcom CAD Wireless drawing service is predominantly aimed at taking existing drawings that contain too much information and preparing them for use in coverage and planning for wireless environments. Objects such as walls, doors and certain furniture can all influence wireless coverage. This process involves the CAD Team taking an existing drawing or picture file and scanning or importing this file into AutoCAD™ software, any non relevant information will be removed (i.e. electrical, plumbing, air conditioning services and unwanted furniture). Our CAD team will then utilise complete drawing templates with layers designed for RF planning (e.g. exterior/interior walls and doors). On completion drawings would be supplied in .dwg and .dxf formats.

Infrastructure

The qolcom CAD Infrastructure service is aimed at either updating existing or creating new drawings detailing cable ways, outlet positions, network hardware and cabinet information. These drawings would provide an essential record of an as installed infrastructure and could be utilised by network engineers or Support Partners to assist in the location of specific network elements to assist with troubleshooting etc. In addition to Infrastructure drawings, qolcom can create cabinet layouts, topology and logical network diagrams. On completion drawing would be supplied in .dwg and .dxf formats and cabinet layouts would be supplied in .vsd format (Visio).

Floor plan production

The qolcom CAD Floor Plan Production service is aimed at those customers that have no or limited floor plans. This service involves qolcom CAD designers visiting each site to gather measurements and building structure information which is then used to generate a complete site layout within AutoCAD™. Each site layout will be produced to scale and will include any additional information defined within the initial scope of works. On completion drawings will be supplied in .dwg and .dxf formats.
